VIRBA welcomes You

Welcome to the Vancouver Island Rabbit Breeders' Association! Based in Victoria, BC, Canada, we believe we are one of the oldest continuous rabbit clubs in North America as we were established in 1918. We have been chartered with the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA) since the 1950s.

We are devoted to the hobby of rabbit raising, be it show, pet, or meat. Article II, sections 1 and 2 of our club Constitution states that our aims and objectives are: To foster, promote and enhance, through membership, cooperation with all phases of the rabbit and cavy industry. To promote and uphold the American Rabbit Breeders Association's standards, judging, and registration systems.

Meetings are the second Friday of January, March, May, August, October and November and we pride ourselves on being a social club. We also have a club show in June, and help run the rabbit section of the ever-popular Saanich Fair every Labour Day weekend.

We are happy to announce the publication of a guidebook / cookbook! Recipes for people and rabbits (including how to make treats), along with tips on raising and caring for rabbits, written by our club members. Available on CD for $10, $8 for current VIRBA members. Contact us to order yours.
